Cookie Policy
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-23
Navigator uses a small, deliberately minimal set of cookies and browser-storage keys. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not share browsing data with ad networks.
What we use
1. Session cookies (authentication)
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
navigator_session | Holds your authenticated session after you sign in via Google or Microsoft SSO | Session (cleared on browser close) or until token expiry | First-party, strictly necessary |
navigator_csrf | Cross-site request forgery protection for state-changing requests | Session | First-party, strictly necessary |
These cookies are required for the Service to work. Disabling them will prevent you from signing in.
2. Browser localStorage (UI state only)
Navigator uses localStorage to remember small UI preferences on your device. Nothing here is transmitted to our servers as tracking data; it is read by the app running in your browser.
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
navigator:nav-drawer-open | Remembers whether the side navigation drawer is expanded or collapsed |
navigator:theme | Remembers your theme preference (managed by next-themes) |
navigator:pwa-install-dismissed | Remembers that you dismissed the "install to home screen" prompt (ADR-068) |
navigator:pwa-install-dismissed-at | Timestamp of that dismissal, so the prompt can reappear after a reasonable period |
navigator:org-match-dismissed | Remembers that you dismissed the organization-match suggestion banner (ADR-067) |
navigator:org-match-dismissed-at | Timestamp of that dismissal |
navigator:auth-token | Short-lived API access token kept in memory where possible; falls back to localStorage during dev |
You can clear these keys at any time from your browser's site-settings menu.
3. Error monitoring (when enabled)
When Sentry error monitoring is active (pending go-live), a first-party request is made to our error-collection endpoint if the app crashes. This does not set a cookie. It sends a stack trace, anonymized URL path, and a request ID. No ticket content is included.
What we do not use
- No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap, or other product-analytics cookies.
- No Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Twitter / X pixel, or any advertising pixel.
- No cross-site tracking cookies.
- No session-replay tools (no FullStory, Hotjar, Clarity, etc.).
Your choices
Because Navigator does not use tracking or marketing cookies, there is no cookie consent banner. If you want to remove Navigator cookies and local storage:
- Open your browser's privacy/site-settings panel.
- Find the Navigator Portal domain.
- Clear cookies and site data.
You will be signed out and your UI preferences will reset.
Changes
We will update this policy if we add, remove, or change any cookie or local-storage key. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
